The Second Circuit of New York reversed a district court’s ruling that music publisher EMI will own the rights to “Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town” until 2029, saying in the publisher's battle with the heirs of songwriter John Frederick Coots, represented by Carey Rodriguez, that its copyright term will expire next year, according to a report in Law360.
